Glittering Jewelry Worn at 2019 Oscars
This year’s Oscar ceremony may have been void of a host, but it certainly was not without iconic and stunning jewels. Helen Mirren, Michelle Yeoh, Rachel Weisz, Amy Adams and more caused jaws to drop in utter aww as they graced the red carpet this past weekend. As unique and beautiful their jewels were, once Lady Gaga arrived adorned with the iconic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” diamond [previously] worn by Audrey Hepburn; it was cemented that this [most recent] Oscars ceremony would host the most unprecedented jewels to date.
With that being said, let us delve into the top glittering jewelry worn at the 2019 Oscars:
Lady Gaga graced the runway this past weekend dressed in a black, strapless, Alexander McQueen gown accented by the highly recognizable and famous “Breakfast and Tiffany’s” diamond. The ensemble allowed Gaga to fervently channel the overall Audrey Hepburn look and stylistic spirit. Charles Lewis Tiffany acquired the 128.5 carat diamond a year after its discovery in 1877. Before Gaga’s appearance, Hepburn had been one of only two people to ever wear it. Hepburn wore the diamond in publicity stills for the promotion of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Mrs. Sheldon White-house wore it in 1957 for a Tiffany Ball.
It does need to be noted that the “wardrobe of settings” that were created for the massive stone of beauty wear from the hands of the renowned and respected, Jean Schlumberger.
Rachel Weisz adorned her head with a duo of glistening Cartier Belle Epoque brooches, essentially repurposing them into a headpiece. The platinum setting that houses the diamonds give Weisz an angelic halo glow as she made her way down the red carpet.
Ms. Theron never disappoints on the red carpet, and this Oscar ceremony was no exception. The old Hollywood glamour that she exudes was the perfect back drop for the layered Bulgari diamonds on her wrist and neck.
As Amy Adams puts her incredible curves on display, she shines draped in diamond and platinum Cartier jewels. She was able to effortlessly accent her Hollywood siren look with the following:
- A Cartier collection brooch clipped onto a Cartier High Jewelry Tennis Bracelet
- Platinum and diamond earring from 1934
- Cartier Collection bracelet circa 1937
- Cartier ring from 2005
Glittering jewels definitively captivated the night. Although there was no host, there was certainly a host of stunning jewels increasing the beauty of those dawning them.
