Luxury Watch Maintenance - Helpful Tips & Expert Advice

Get It Serviced Regularly
Wheher it's a Breitling, Omega or Relox, your watch needs servicing. And when it comes to this, there are two things that you should always keep in mind;
1: Ensure it's serviced regularly and this should be anywhere between two to four years.
2: Ensure you hire a skilled watchmaker for this task. The last thing you want is to place the durability of your valuable machine to an incompetent service provider.
This should always go on as scheduled even when it's still functioning well. Remember there's always some sort of friction going on within itself, which can eventually wear it out. And the longer you wait, the higher the risk of having to completely replace some parts.
Keep It Active
I know what you must be thinking; watches don't exercise, right? But you can keep it moving by wearing it as often as possible. It's much better that way than having it sit for that once/twice a year occasion. You might be thinking that by storing it for long is equal to prolonging its durability, but on the contrary, it's breaking it down. You see, such luxury watches such as the Rolex can quickly lose their oils, making movements difficult.
But if despite all these you still want to store it from time to time because of reasons best known by you, the experts advise that it's better to have it in a winding box for at most 8 hours a day and away from direct sunlight or places that are too hot. You also don't want to trigger too fast movements. They aren't recommendable.
Be Careful When It Comes To Overhauls
As much as you are the only person who has the right to decide as to when and how you want your watch's revamping to be done, consider only the bracelet and the case. That too at most five times in a lifetime. This is particularly essential when dealing with gold ones as too much of it can entirely destroy the metal. For steal machines, you can adjust as severally as you want according to preference.
Take Care Of It When On Your Wrist
If you hadn't yet thought of it, yes your machine requires proper care even when you're wearing it. For instance, if its back is made up of top-notch stainless steel, then it's durability isn't under questioning. But it can easily get damaged if it slides and falls on a hard floor, which could shatter the face.
Also, if you love your golf time, then we recommend taking it off first. The vibrations between the ball movements and the club aren't good for the proper movement. Well, not unless you plan on having it serviced more often.
Don't forget the water resistant features as well. Too much water pressure can get into the insides and cause irrevocable damage. Take it to a watchmaker immediately you suspect that. Also, have its water resistance capability checked every year.
